Wolvennest have released the video for “In the Ruins” on 6 November 2026. The track is the title song from the Belgian band’s three-song EP “In The Ruins”, which is out now through Consouling Sounds. The YouTube upload presents the song alongside credits for Michel Kirby, François Breulet and Marc De Backer, with production from Michel Kirby, François Breulet, Marc De Backer, Bram Moerenhout, Sharon Schievers and Esteban Lebron-Ruiz. Olmo Lipani mixed and mastered it.
The release follows our earlier report on the EP and its 6 November release. The title track runs for almost 13 minutes and was written during the sessions for Wolvennest’s 2025 album “Procession”, alongside the EP’s other songs, “The Weakness” and “Transcendance”. The band had already played the new material on its recent European tour.
Shazzula’s ritual vocals
Shazzula sings on “In the Ruins” and also plays keyboards and theremin in Wolvennest. She has been part of the Brussels band since its formation in 2015. Her other projects include Aqua Nebula Oscillator, Sayona and The Nest, alongside her solo work.
The song follows the band’s psychedelic doom approach, with hypnotic riffs, extended instrumental passages and restrained industrial elements. Shazzula’s vocals contribute to its dark, ritual atmosphere before the arrangement grows denser in its extended finale. Wolvennest formed in Belgium in 2015 and released “Procession” in 2025, following earlier albums including “The Dark Path to the Light” and “Temple”.
