Write for Goddess Metal
Join Us: Volunteer Interviewers & Reviewers
Help us give women in metal the serious coverage they deserve. Goddess Metal is an independent publication dedicated to metal bands with women in the line-up across every heavy subgenre. Our daily news desk is running at full speed, and we are looking for passionate volunteer writers to lead our artist interviews and album & concert reviews.
What we are looking for
- Interviewers: Conduct thoughtful email or video interviews with vocalists, guitarists, bassists, drummers, keyboardists, and bandleaders—from established symphonic and gothic metal icons to rising underground death, doom, thrash, progressive, folk, and black metal acts.
- Album & EP Reviewers: Write honest, musically informed reviews of upcoming and newly released albums and EPs by bands with women in the line-up. We care about riff craft, songwriting, production, and vocal performance—not hype.
- Live & Festival Correspondents: Cover concerts and festivals in your city or country featuring female-fronted and female-featured metal bands.
- Regional Scene Spotters: Help us track emerging bands with women in the line-up from your local scene so our database and news desk never miss them.
What you get as a contributor
- Your own byline & author page: Every interview or review you write is published under your own name or your chosen journalistic pseudonym (just as our founder Zhivko Koev writes under his longstanding metal-journalism pen name Victor Nord). Your author profile can link to your own band, project, or website.
- Advance promos & interview access: We receive press releases, advance album streams, and interview offers from metal labels, PR agencies, and bands worldwide, and we match them with our writers' favourite subgenres.
- Flexible, zero-pressure pace: This is an independent, non-commercial passion project. Whether you want to write one in-depth interview a month or review two albums a week, you choose the releases and artists that genuinely excite you.
- Editorial support: Our editorial desk handles formatting, fact-checking, imagery, and promotion across our site and video channels so you can focus entirely on the music and the conversation.
How to join
Send a short email to Chief Editor Victor Nord at [email protected] and tell us:
- The name or pen name you would like to use in your byline.
- Whether you are most interested in interviews, album reviews, or live reports.
- Which metal subgenres and bands you know and love best.
- A link to something you have written before, or simply a short paragraph (150–200 words) reviewing a recent metal album or song you loved.
