BLACKWATER HOLYLIGHT will support ELDER on most dates of a rescheduled North American tour in April 2027, with the run covering 14 shows across the United States and Canada. The concerts replace the original autumn itinerary, which ended early after ELDER bassist Jack Donovan suffered a serious medical emergency and underwent open-heart surgery for a congenital heart condition.
ELDER announced the new dates on 3 November. The band said Donovan is recovering, and tickets bought for postponed shows remain valid. Tickets for newly added concerts will go on sale on 6 November at 10:00 local time, apart from Cleveland, where further information is expected. The announcement also confirmed upgraded venues in Chicago and Denver.
As many of you may already know, a health emergency forced us to cut our recent U.S. and Canadian tour short. We’re happy to announce that all dates from that run have now been rescheduled, along with a handful of new shows.
- ELDER
Fourteen dates across two countries
The tour opens at The Odeon in Cleveland on 2 April 2027, followed by Spirit in Pittsburgh on 3 April and Baltimore Soundstage on 5 April. BLACKWATER HOLYLIGHT and ELDER then play Underground Arts in Philadelphia on 6 April, Webster Hall in New York on 7 April and Paradise Rock Club in Boston on 9 April.
The Canadian dates are Théâtre Fairmount in Montreal on 10 April and The Opera House in Toronto on 12 April. The route continues through Metro in Chicago on 14 April, Fine Line in Minneapolis on 15 April, The Oriental Theater in Denver on 17 April, Urban Lounge in Salt Lake City on 18 April and Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on 20 April.
The final show is scheduled for Neptune Theatre in Seattle on 22 April, where BLACKWATER HOLYLIGHT will not appear. The band was booked for the original run and returns as support for the other announced dates.
A tour after “Not Here Not Gone”
The dates follow BLACKWATER HOLYLIGHT’s 2026 album “Not Here Not Gone”, released by Suicide Squeeze Records on LP and CD. We recently covered the Portland trio’s video for “Spades”, a track from the album, before the band’s earlier tour dates. That film presented an underground poker heist that goes wrong, with bassist and vocalist Sunny Faris writing and directing the project with Jeremy Colegrove, while Duncan Robertson co-directed and filmed it.
This video was all for fun! We wanted to make a silly video with our friends and family to finish the year off with a project that felt freeing and creative for everyone. We hope you enjoy Spades - a journey through an underground poker heist gone wrong!
- Sunny Faris, bassist and vocalist
The group had also announced live appearances in Portland and Seattle in November, a Los Angeles show in January 2027 and the Mojave Experience Festival in Joshua Tree in March, including dates supporting Neurosis. The new ELDER tour adds a longer run across the eastern, central and western United States, plus two Canadian stops.
Sunny Faris has led since 2016
Allison “Sunny” Faris plays bass and sings in BLACKWATER HOLYLIGHT, which she has been part of since the band formed in Portland in 2016. Her role also extends to the group’s visual work, including the “Spades” video. Faris has led the band through its albums “Blackwater Holylight”, “Veils of Winter”, “Silence/Motion” and “Not Here Not Gone”.
Mikayla Mayhew on guitar
Mikayla Mayhew has played guitar in BLACKWATER HOLYLIGHT since 2018. Alongside the band, her projects include Cig Corpse, Dirty Princess and Rapid Response. She appears in the current touring line-up for the rescheduled North American dates.
Eliese Dorsay behind the drums
Eliese Dorsay has been the drummer of BLACKWATER HOLYLIGHT since 2019. She has also played with Rapid Response and Urchin. The current trio’s latest release is “Not Here Not Gone”, issued in 2026 through Suicide Squeeze Records.
