Delain will play the Dark Dimensions Festival at VIP Station in São Paulo, Brazil, on 11 July 2027. The Dutch symphonic metal band is one of the first acts confirmed for the festival, which will take place on 10 and 11 July with two stages and 20 bands planned in total. The opening time is set for 13:00 on both days.
The first announcement also includes US industrial thrash metal band Prong, who will headline the 10 July programme. Brazilian acts Siegrid Ingrid, StormSorrow and New Democracy are booked for that day, while Storia, Medjay, Eclipsera and Master Dy will join Delain on 11 July. Further international acts are due to be announced.
Two days at VIP Station
Delain will appear at a festival that is designed to place international artists alongside bands from several parts of Brazil’s metal scene. Prong are led by vocalist and guitarist Tommy Victor and are known for combining thrash metal with industrial elements. The bill therefore places Delain’s orchestral and atmospheric approach beside a more riff-driven sound.
Tickets are being sold through Ingresso Master. The festival is organised by Dark Dimensions, with JZ Press handling publicity.
A collective after Leah
The São Paulo booking follows major changes to Delain. On 19 October 2026, the band announced that vocalist Diana Leah was leaving after several years to pursue other things in life. Founder and keyboardist Martijn Westerholt is now continuing the project with guitarist Ronald Landa, bassist and harsh vocalist Ludovico Cioffi, and drummer Sander Zoer, alongside rotating guest artists rather than a direct replacement for Leah.
The new model began with “We Are Fire”, which was released through Napalm Records on 20 October. Fabienne Erni, Noa Gruman and Paolo Ribaldini provide guest vocals on the single, with the contributing artists expected to shape the upcoming album and some of them also appearing live. We previously covered the single and the band’s February 2027 European tour in our report on the new release.
Fabienne Erni and Noa Gruman
Fabienne Erni and Noa Gruman are the women connected to Delain’s current music through their guest vocals on “We Are Fire”. Erni is also known for Tvinna, Eluveitie, Illumishade and her solo project, Fabienne Erni. Gruman is the vocalist of Somnia and Scardust. Their work with Delain forms part of the band’s new multi-vocalist format rather than a permanent replacement line-up.
Delain were formed in Zwolle in 2002 by Westerholt, who had left Within Temptation the year before. The project initially began with guest musicians before becoming a live band around the 2006 debut album “Lucidity”. The group later released “Dark Waters” in 2023 and the EP “Dance with the Devil” in 2024, before Leah’s departure led to the current collective structure.
