Delain have released the new single “We Are Fire”, announced as the start of a new phase for the Dutch symphonic metal band, built around what the band calls an extraordinary cast of collaborators.
The release comes with a run of eleven European shows in February 2027. The tour opens in Cologne on 2 February 2027 and continues through Bremen, Berlin, Leipzig, Karlsruhe, Pratteln, Munich, Frankfurt, Esch-sur-Alzette and Tilburg, closing at O13 in Tilburg on 11 February 2027. Former Nightwish bassist and vocalist Marko Hietala is billed as a special guest on every date, with more guests still to be announced, and Infected Rain and Persefone providing support. Tickets and VIP packages are on sale now via the band’s official site.
From Zwolle to the stage
Delain were formed in Zwolle in 2002 by keyboardist Martijn Westerholt, who had left Within Temptation the year before. After starting as a studio project with guest musicians, the band became a full live act around the 2006 debut album “Lucidity”. Seven studio albums have followed, most recently “Dark Waters” in 2023 and the EP “Dance with the Devil” in November 2024.
Guest vocalists on “We Are Fire”
Yesterday, as we announced, Diana Leah parted ways with Delain as the band transitions to a collaborative format. She is not the vocalist on “We Are Fire”. Instead, the new single features guest vocalists Fabienne Erni, Noa Gruman and Paolo Ribaldini.
