Evanescence, led by vocalist and keyboardist Amy Lee, will close the South Stage at Graspop Metal Meeting in Dessel, Belgium, on Friday, 18 June 2027. The performance is part of the festival’s 30th edition, which runs from 17 to 20 June, and will be the band’s second appearance at Graspop after their first show there ten years earlier. Faith No More will headline the North Stage on the same night.
A second Graspop appearance
The announcement brings Evanescence back to Belgium after the band played Vorst Nationaal in September. Their Graspop set will draw from the 2026 studio album “Sanctuary” as well as the songs that established the American group internationally, including “Bring Me to Life”, “My Immortal” and “Going Under”.
The festival’s 2027 edition will feature five stages across four days in Dessel. It is also the event’s 30th anniversary. General ticket sales begin on Saturday, 14 November at 10:00 through Ticketmaster. Mastercard cardholders can access a pre-sale for festival and VIP tickets from Thursday, 12 November at 10:00 until Saturday, 14 November at 09:00 through priceless.com/music.
Amy Lee’s piano and vocals
Amy Lee was born in 1981 and co-founded Evanescence in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 13. She sings, plays piano and keyboards, and writes for the band, whose music combines heavy guitars with piano-led melodies and darker atmospheric elements. Alongside her work with Evanescence, she has released solo material and worked on film music and other projects.
The Graspop booking follows another festival announcement covered by Goddess Metal, when Evanescence joined the 2027 iHeartRadio ALTer EGO line-up. That event is scheduled for 16 January 2027 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, with The Offspring, Billy Corgan, Death Cab for Cutie, Slightly Stoopid, Modest Mouse, Young the Giant, The Warning and Temper City also appearing. Evanescence will therefore begin 2027 with an American festival date before returning to Europe for Graspop in June.
Formed in 1994, Evanescence broke through with the 2003 album “Fallen”. The band later released “The Open Door”, “Evanescence”, “Synthesis” and “The Bitter Truth”, before issuing “Sanctuary” as their sixth studio album in 2026. The group’s current line-up includes Lee alongside guitarists Troy McLawhorn and Tim McCord, drummer Will Hunt and bassist Emma Anzai.
