Hippie Death Cult have released a new stand-alone single, “Blood, Grit & Bone”, through Blacklight Media and Metal Blade Records. It is the Portland, Oregon trio’s first new studio output in three years, and it arrives with an official video shot by Eddy Vasquez and edited by Eddie Brnabic and Vasquez.
The band describe the song as a statement of resilience and self-acceptance.
“Blood, Grit & Bone” is a powerful, unapologetic statement of resilience, a fierce anthem of self-acceptance that celebrates the strength found in aging, the beauty of hard-earned scars, and defiant confidence in the face of societal judgment. Musically, the track traces the evolution of heavy music, building a bridge from ’70s-infused, foundational grit to the high-velocity, percussive intensity of the thrash metal movement.
