Crypt Lord has released a two-sided Halloween single, “Rotten Sweet Candy”, a duo single whose two tracks are “Red Candy Apple” and “Black Candy Apple”. The Portland doom project put it out on 27 October 2026, days before Halloween, through its own Bandcamp page.
The band describes the release as a love song for Death. In its own words, Death is the razor’s edge hidden inside a bloody red candy apple, the danger at the centre of the night, and trick or treat becomes a vow as Crypt Lord gives herself to the sweetness of the dark.
The two sides are built from syrupy Drop C riffs, heavy floor toms and seventies bass, with what the band calls cold feminine vocals. The songs move at the slow, crushing weight the project is named for. Music and cover art are credited to Crypt Lord, and Cosmic Eve produced the single.
Cosmic Eve is the voice and the sole member behind Crypt Lord, the doom, stoner and rock solo project from Portland, Oregon. She sings on “Rotten Sweet Candy” and produced it, and the release follows the project’s 2026 full-length “Undercity”. The single is available through the Crypt Lord Catacombs Bandcamp page.
