Fohatt have released their new album “Vernal Quietude” today, 23 October 2026. The full record is streaming on the band’s YouTube channel as one continuous video, and it is out on CD through C.W. Music Records in partnership with Musika Mundi and Mutilation Records.
The Curitiba band describes the album as an immersion into silence, nature and the cycles of transformation, built from melancholic melodies, heavy guitars, ethereal vocals and deep growls. The lyrics, written by vocalist Gustavo Grando, deal with introspection, existential reflection and the search for liberation beyond imposed dogmas.
Nine Tracks and a Satie Adaptation
“Vernal Quietude” runs for nine tracks, from the opener “Vox Silvarum” to the closing “Twilight Within”, with Portuguese and English titles side by side. The most unusual entry is “Gymnopédie III”, an adaptation of Erik Satie’s “Gymnopédie No. 3”, arranged by the band, Fernando Nahtaivel and Paulo Monteiro.
Two guests appear on the record. Elvis Limac of Rites of Passage and Coldwinter co-composed “Primordial Aurea” and sings on it, while Ismael Júnior of Lúgubre contributes guest vocals to “Twilight Within”. Paulo Monteiro produced, mixed and mastered the album at LFX Music Works.
Two Voices at the Front
The vocals are shared between Gustavo Grando and two women. Ana Paula Paz has sung in Fohatt since the band formed in 2021, and Viviane Muniz joined on vocals this year, making “Vernal Quietude” her first album with the band.
From Curitiba, Five Years In
Fohatt formed in Curitiba, Paraná in 2021 and now count seven releases. Their first full-length, “Reflections of Emptiness”, came out in 2024 alongside the singles “Twisted Reality”, “Remembrance of Light” and a contribution to a Saturnus Brazilian tribute. Earlier this year the band released the single “Inveja” before completing the new album.
