Pyrogaric have released “Bury My Soul (Night of the Living Dead Version)” today, 23 October 2026. The Welsh band has taken a track that began life as a demo on their 2023 debut album “Home” and rebuilt it into a heavier, more physical version, with a bassline the band says hits harder than ever.

From Demo to Rebirth

The song keeps its original theme of finding beauty in death. As the band puts it in the lyric: “six feet under and I’m still in love.” The band describe the new version as darker than the demo, built on heavier riffs and a stronger low end.

Jamey-Leigh Butcher on Vocals and Drums

Jamey-Leigh Butcher sings and plays drums in Pyrogaric and has been in the band since it formed in 2022. She shares the stage with Jim McDonald on bass and Keelan Deri Powell on guitars. The trio put out two releases in 2026 already: the full-length “Fracture” and the live album “Pyrogaric: Live at the Patriot”.

Doom from Newport

Pyrogaric formed in Newport, Wales in 2022 and play doom metal with blues and stoner influences. The band describe themselves as storytellers dealing in rebirth, war and loss, and say their sound relies on clear, powerful vocals and individual instruments rather than effects. Before “Fracture”, they released four singles in 2025: “Remember Me?”, “Time”, “The Siren” and “Magic”.
