Absinthe Green have released the official music video for “When The Lights Go Out” today, 31 October 2026. The Greek alternative metal band has also made the song available on digital platforms, while its debut album, “Of Love and Pain”, can be bought in physical formats through the band’s online shop.
A beast takes control
The song’s lyrics describe something breaking through the flesh as night begins, with the repeated refrain calling on the listener to “exercise the beast” and let it take control. Cyka de La Blyat appears as the monster in the video, produced by A NØBLE NØIR. Eirini, the band’s vocalist and guitarist, directed the clip and worked on its styling and make-up. Onyx Black filmed, edited and colour-graded the video, with additional camera work by George Geegor Anagnostopoulos.
Eirini leads the project
Eirini founded Absinthe Green as a solo project before developing the current band. She sings and plays guitar, and the line-up also includes drummer Harry Mason, bassist Villy Pirris and guitarist Panos Economakis. The band released “Of Love and Pain” digitally on 19 September 2025 and in physical formats on 10 October 2025, with production by Hiili Hiilesmaa. “When The Lights Go Out” had previously been issued as a single in June 2026.
