SIDEWINDER have released the official video for “Tempest”, the third single from the Wellington, New Zealand, stoner metal band’s upcoming album, “Dominion”. The album will be released on 4 December.
The lyrics describe a world poisoned by iron-tainted rivers, darkness and ash before introducing “Tempest” as a force of destruction and renewal. She arrives with “thunder in her hair”, wipes out the land’s “Beast and Man”, and returns to an earthly rest until she is called again.
Bradley SG produced, filmed and edited the video. BBD Audio supplied the equipment.
Jem Tupe fronts the storm
Vocalist Jem Tupe has been part of SIDEWINDER since 2023. She also performs with Mojo Alice, alongside her work in the band. Tupe sings in the current line-up with guitarists Ben Sargent and Thomas Rousell, bassist Sean Fitzpatrick and drummer Grant Lister.
SIDEWINDER formed in Wellington in 2020. The band’s previous full-length releases were “Vines” in 2022 and “Talons” in 2024, with “Dominion” now set to follow on 4 December.
