Kill For Nothing have released “Kraken”, an album that gathers remastered versions of the singles from the Brazilian band’s first years, before their debut album, and adds one new song. The record is out now on streaming platforms through Hell Yeah Music Company.

Remasters, One New Song

“Kraken” revisits a period of experimentation in which the band was still settling on its identity. Among the songs reworked are “Selective Outrage”, with a guest appearance by Hanislip, and “Silent Mirror”, which features Hugo Mariutti. The album also brings back “Alone”, a song that was already part of the group’s early repertoire, now in a version with Benx, vocalist of Zion’z.

The title explains what connects the tracks. Drawn from the sea monster of Norse mythology, the kraken stands for the conflicts hidden in the depths of a person: insecurity, trauma, hatred and self-esteem as forces that can drag someone down or open room for change.

The new “Alone” carries part of that idea, dealing with loneliness and the discomfort of not recognising yourself in the patterns society imposes. The song asks how far it is worth giving up your own identity to find acceptance. Benx, who sings on it and produced it, joins a composition from Kill For Nothing’s early years, closing a cycle for the band as it prepares to explore new paths.

Mandy Delphino Plays Guitar and Sings

Mandy Delphino plays guitar and sings backing vocals in Kill For Nothing. She is part of the current line-up alongside vocalist Alessandro Bob, bassist Guhz Soares and drummer Yuri Alexander. On “Kraken” she plays on the remastered early material and on the new song, the band’s first release since their debut album. The band, also known as K4N, formed in 2022 and built its sound on the meeting point between nu metal and references running from Korn and Deftones to Mudvayne, with a contemporary focus on city life and individual conflict.

Stages Shared With Project46 and Viper

Kill For Nothing have played shows across the Brazilian scene, sharing bills with Project46, Eminence, Black Pantera, John Wayne, Viper, Eskrota and Plebe Rude, as well as Bruxax, Emphuria, Laboratori and Hatefulmurder.

Their debut album, “M.I.R.A.G.E.”, came out in 2025 and appeared on year-end lists published by Tenho Mais Discos Que Amigos, R7, Roadie Crew and Mariutti Team Zine. It dealt with the relationship between society, technology, artificial intelligence and human behaviour, themes that also run through the band’s video work, including the clip for “Mine”, filmed with footage shot in a São Paulo metro station.
