Kill For Nothing have released “Kraken”, an album that gathers remastered versions of the singles from the Brazilian band’s first years, before their debut album, and adds one new song. The record is out now on streaming platforms through Hell Yeah Music Company.
Selective Outrage and Silent Mirror revisited
The revisited tracks include “Selective Outrage”, with Hanislip, and “Silent Mirror”, which features Hugo Mariutti. The album also brings back “Alone”, a song that was already part of the group’s early repertoire and now arrives in a version with Benx, vocalist of Zion’z.
A monster from the depths
The title explains what connects the songs. Drawn from the sea monster of Norse mythology, the kraken stands for the conflicts hidden in the depths of each person. Insecurities, trauma, hatred and self-esteem appear as forces able to drag someone to the bottom or open room for change.
The new “Alone” carries part of that reflection, dealing with loneliness and the discomfort of not recognising oneself in the patterns imposed by society. The song asks how far it is worth giving up your own identity to find acceptance. Benx of Zion’z performs on and produced the track, which recovers a composition from Kill For Nothing’s early years and closes a cycle for the band as they prepare to explore new paths.
Mandy Delphino on guitar and backing vocals
Mandy Delphino plays guitar and sings backing vocals in Kill For Nothing. She is part of the current line-up alongside vocalist Alessandro Bob, bassist Guhz Soares and drummer Yuri Alexander. The band, also known as K4N, formed in 2022 and built its identity on the meeting of nu metal energy with references running from Korn and Deftones to Mudvayne, combined with a contemporary focus on city life and individual conflict.
M.I.R.A.G.E. and the Brazilian scene
Kill For Nothing’s debut album, “M.I.R.A.G.E.”, came out in 2025 and addressed the relationship between society, technology, artificial intelligence and human behaviour. It appeared on year-end lists published by outlets including Tenho Mais Discos Que Amigos, R7, Roadie Crew and Mariutti Team Zine. The same themes run through the band’s audiovisual work, such as the video for “Mine”, filmed with footage shot in a São Paulo metro station.
The band has played shows with Project46, Eminence, Black Pantera, John Wayne, Viper, Eskrota and Plebe Rude, as well as Bruxax, Emphuria, Laboratori and Hatefulmurder. On “Kraken”, Kill For Nothing return to their own beginnings to revisit the songs that helped build their identity from a perspective closer to the present.
