BAND-MAID have released their new single “SPIN”, the ending theme song for the anime series BEYBLADE X. The track is out on 28 October 2026 on CD and on streaming services, with an official music video published alongside it.
Written for spinning tops and collisions
The song was composed for the anime’s subject matter: rapidly spinning tops, physical collisions, battles and determination. The band translated that action into heavy rhythms, with blistering lead guitar riffs by guitarist Kanami Tono, heavy basslines by bassist Misa, and drum work by Akane Hirose. The vocals are split between founder Miku Kobato and lead vocalist Saiki Atsumi. Kobato wrote the lyrics around momentum, drive and continuous movement, and the whole band arranged the track so that each member’s playing has room in a live set.
“SPIN” arrives with two accompanying tracks, “ENTROPY” and “Spring ephemeral”.
Two dates left on the world tour
BAND-MAID are on the road under the banner “BAND-MAID WORLD TOUR 2026”. Two Japanese dates remain: 1 November at COMTEC PORTBASE in Aichi, and 13 November at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo. General sale for both is open.
Miku Kobato, from maid café idea to Budokan
Miku Kobato sings and plays guitar in BAND-MAID, and founded the band in Tokyo in 2013 with the idea of pairing a maid café aesthetic with heavy rock. She shares vocal duties with Saiki Atsumi and writes the band’s lyrics, including those of “SPIN”. Under Kobato’s stage persona the band address their audience as masters and princesses, a greeting that opens the “SPIN” video.
A decade of anime themes
Formed in Tokyo in 2013, the five-piece all-female band built an international following after the 2015 single “Thrill” spread online, and have since toured North America, Europe and Asia. “SPIN” continues a run of anime tie-ins that includes theme songs for Log Horizon, Platinum End and the TV anime Rock wa Lady no Tashinamideshite.
