Three Sisters From Monterrey
The Warning were formed in Monterrey in 2013 by the Villarreal Velez sisters. Daniela plays guitar and sings lead and backing vocals, Paulina plays drums and also sings lead and backing vocals, and Alejandra plays bass with occasional lead vocals. All three also play piano, a skill they trained in from an early age before choosing their instruments.
The band broke through in 2014 when a YouTube video of them performing Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” went viral, drawing praise from Kirk Hammett. They have since released five studio albums, most recently “Everything’s Falling” on 28 August 2026, following “Keep Me Fed” (2024), “Error” (2022), “Queen of the Murder Scene” (2018) and “XXI Century Blood” (2017). In 2026 their single “Kerosene” topped Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, making them the first all-women band and the first Mexican band to reach number one in the chart’s 45-year history.
