Floor Jansen has released “Everything Is Moving On”, the third single from her second solo album, “Hytress”. The track and its music video arrived on 23 October 2026, two days after she announced them. The album itself is due on 15 January 2027.

A song about time and choices

The single centres on a plain idea: life is happening now. Its lyrics move between urgency and pause, from “Time, your life is now” to “Let us slow down fast”. Jansen wrote the song around the choices people make while time keeps passing, and around the moment when something no longer fits who you are.

For me, this song is about being awake to the life you have now. We so easily tell ourselves we will do something later, but life keeps moving. Enjoy it, take the chances that matter to you, and make choices that feel right for who you are and where you want to go. Sometimes that also means letting go of things that no longer feel right. Those choices are not always easy. You can be grateful for everything that brought you to where you are, and still recognise when something no longer fits who you are now, or who you want to be. Every experience and every person leaves something with you. Moving on does not erase that; you take it with you into whatever comes next.

The video was made by SetVexy. “Everything Is Moving On” follows “Run”, released earlier in 2026, as the second preview of the album.

From After Forever to a solo career

Jansen, born on 21 February 1981, joined After Forever in 1997 at the age of sixteen and sang on the band’s first album, “Prison of Desire”, three years later. She was the group’s sole composer after Mark Jansen left in 2002. When After Forever disbanded in 2009 she formed ReVamp, releasing two albums with them, and in 2012 she joined Nightwish as a touring vocalist before becoming their full-time frontwoman in 2013. She left Nightwish in 2026. Her debut solo album, “Paragon”, came out in 2023.

Tickets and the Germany combo

Jansen has confirmed dates for the “Hytress” tour, with tickets on sale through her website. A ticket and album combo deal is available for the German shows. The album can be preordered through her merch store and presaved on streaming services.

Song of the day

The Erinyes

“"Agony & Ecstasy" - Official Visualizer”

A song about duality and loss, where agony and ecstasy intertwine as someone struggles to let go of a ghost-like presence and rise above the pain of being left behind.
