Arch Enemy have started work on a new studio album, their first with singer Lauren Hart. Guitarist and founder Michael Amott shared the news in an interview with Liz McGiffin on the Colorado Conversations programme of Denver channel KDVR Fox 31, recorded while the band tours North America.
Writing between tour stops
Amott said the new material is moving along calmly for now. The recent singer change has drawn so much interest that live offers keep arriving from around the world, and the band also wants time for the new line-up to grow together as players.
We are also slowly working on a new album. It is in progress, but we are doing it in small intervals. In my opinion, it has to be a really good album, with great songs and music, and it has to feel right.
He added that touring gives him ideas from different people and cultures, but that he needs time at home to process those experiences before composing properly. Even so, the guitar tends to land in his hands after only a couple of days of rest. No release date for the album has been announced.
A quick introduction in February
The Swedish melodic death metal band, formed in Halmstad in 1995, presented Hart as their new frontwoman on 19 February 2026 and released the song “To The Last Breath”, the first taste of music made with her. Amott explained that the track was prepared quickly so that fans could hear the new singer before the tour started.
We wanted to introduce her voice with its own song, so that fans could enjoy it before we hit the road.
Hart first performed with Arch Enemy on 27 March in Beijing, China. Amott said the tours have been an important part of the new line-up bonding. Hart replaced Alissa White-Gluz, who sang on four Arch Enemy studio albums between 2014 and 2025, following Angela Gossow’s 2000 to 2014 run. The band’s most recent album, “Blood Dynasty”, came out in 2025 on Century Media.

Her singing mixes growling with clean vocals. She has also appeared several times as a guest vocalist for Kamelot, both on stage and on their 2018 album “The Shadow Theory”.
