NOVA SPEI have released their third album, “Trinitas”, today, 6 November 2026, through Bam&Co-Heavy. The Canadian groove and progressive metal band’s 13-track record is available digitally and on CD, and introduces a new line-up featuring vocalist Emmanuelle Desbiens-Dubois. The album follows “Sequentis”, which came out in 2022.
Thirteen tracks, heavy themes
NOVA SPEI recorded the album’s songs in French, covering subjects including mental health, betrayal, narcissism, social control and human violence. The tracklist begins with “Trinitas” and “Renaissance”, followed by “M’entends-tu?!”, “Déraciné”, “Hypnose Collective”, “Sentence”, “Bourreau”, “Résonance”, “Enterré vivant”, “Aucun Regret”, “Traitre”, “Vautours” and “Draps Blanc”.
The band’s official lyric video for “Déraciné” focuses on the destruction and displacement of a people. Its lyrics address social and racial control, the rewriting of history and the concealment of massacres. A translated passage from the song reads:
Builder and massacrer! Seeing all this horror makes me sick at heart! Radical, inhumane, almost sudden method! Half-buried, a serious violation of integrity!
- Vicky Fillion
NOVA SPEI wrote and composed the song. Dany Soucy directed the AI production, while Filip Ivanovic created the original artwork. The band stated that all AI-generated work was based entirely on Ivanovic’s original material.
Emmanuelle joins the vocals
Emmanuelle Desbiens-Dubois has been the band’s lead vocalist since 2026. Her arrival gives the new record a different vocal character, with greater emotional depth and intensity, while the group retains its heavy riffs, forceful rhythms and progressive and djent influences. She shares the line-up with bassist and vocalist Nicolas Dumais Brouillette, rhythm guitarist Dany Soucy, lead guitarist Cédrick Charland and drummer Julien De Carufel.
NOVA SPEI formed in Montreal, Quebec, in 2012. The band released its self-titled debut in 2017 before following it with “Sequentis” in 2022. The current five-member line-up represents a change from the group’s earlier configuration, and “Trinitas” is the first full-length album of this new period.
Five Quebec shows
NOVA SPEI will start the “Trinitas” launch tour at Le Nord-Ouest in Trois-Rivières today, 6 November, with Insurrection and Unless We Fight. The next show is scheduled for 7 November at Bar Paradox in La Baie, with Matante Mutante and Unless We Fight.
The band will then play La Source de la Martinière in Quebec City on 13 November with Unpunished and Unless We Fight, followed by Foufounes Électriques in Montreal on 14 November with Burning Attic and Unless We Fight. The run ends at Le Murdoch in Sherbrooke on 5 December, where A Dying Root and Carry The Cross will appear with them.
