Hellcowboys have announced their third album, “Renew, Reborn, Return”, for 11 December 2026 through Octopus Rising and Argonauta Records. The Italian Southern groove metal band has also shared “Your Fear”, the album’s second single, following “Ghiaccio”. The record will arrive on CD and digital formats.
“Your Fear” is built around massive riffs and a raw groove, with lyrics focused on anxieties, phobias and the emotional fractures of contemporary society. The band describes it as “a long and senseless fear”, linking the song to a wider concept about disappointing realities, fading connections and growing apathy.
Ten songs confront disconnection
Hellcowboys recorded the album at Digital Vintage Studios in Rome between January and May 2026. Vocalist and producer Cristiano “Comaante” Iacovazzo produced the sessions with the band at his personal studio. The album’s Southern groove metal, stoner, sludge and heavy metal influences support a narrative about alienation and emotional detachment, while the closing songs move towards recovery.
The tracklist opens with “Renew” and continues through “Ghiaccio”, “Lost World”, “Your Normality”, “No Longer”, “Your Fear”, “Don’t Lie”, “Reborn” and “Return”. The CD and digital release closes with “Your Fear (Acoustic Version)”. The songs address a society shaped by appearances and disposable relationships before turning towards the desire to dream again and escape sadness and fear.
The album artwork uses a black-and-white, vintage tarot-inspired illustration. Its detailed linework, strong chiaroscuro and distressed grain are designed to match the record’s darker themes.
Val anchors the Rome line-up
Hellcowboys feature Val on bass, with her current work also connected to Darkness Unplugged and her solo project Desert Witch. She joined a line-up that includes Cristiano “Comaante” Iacovazzo on vocals and Steve Russian on drums and backing vocals. The band formed in Rome in 2014 and released its self-titled debut in 2017, followed by “Mondo bastardo” in 2019.
The group later issued the single “Welcome to the Freakshow” in 2023 and returned in 2026 with “Ghiaccio”, setting up the release of “Renew, Reborn, Return” on 11 December.
