Nervosa will play Matanza Ritual Fest at Audio in São Paulo, Brazil, on 1 May 2027. The Brazilian thrash metal band joins hosts Matanza Ritual and Gangrena Vodu on the festival’s line-up, with tickets available through Ticket360.
Three bands at Audio
The Saturday event will bring together acts from different generations of Brazilian metal. Its programme covers hardcore, thrash and music combining heavy instrumentation with percussion and terreiro chants. Matanza Ritual Fest returned under that name in 2023, when it was also held at Audio.
Previous editions have featured Crypta, Black Pantera, Ratos de Porão, Pavilhão 9 and Malvada. The São Paulo edition in March 2025 also hosted the stage debut of Matanza Ritual’s album “A Vingança é Meu Motor”.
The announcement places Nervosa’s São Paulo show several months after guitarist and lead vocalist Prika Amaral stepped away from live activity. As we reported in October, the musician cancelled the band’s November 2026 UK shows while returning to Brazil for treatment and further investigation of severe allergies, cold urticaria and near-anaphylactic reactions. Her break was expected to last at least two months, while Nervosa’s North American dates in February and March 2027 were not cancelled.
Prika Amaral leads Nervosa
Prika Amaral plays guitar and sings lead vocals for Nervosa. She founded the São Paulo band in 2010 and became its lead vocalist in 2023. Alongside Nervosa, her past projects include Metal Against Coronavirus and Revolta.
Helena Kotina on guitar
Helena Kotina has played guitar in Nervosa since 2021. The Greek musician also has her solo project, Helena Kotina, and has played with Daffodil. Her guitar work forms part of the band’s current line-up alongside Amaral.
The festival is scheduled for 1 May 2027 at Audio in São Paulo, with Matanza Ritual, Nervosa and Gangrena Vodu listed as the attractions.
