KILOMETRO1 released its independently produced fourth album, “Circle of Nine”, on 27 May 2026. The Puebla, Mexico-based symphonic metal band is led by vocalist, writer and co-composer Lily Kerrigan, who developed the record’s lyrical, narrative and musical direction alongside Dutch musician Alwin Rooijackers.
Four songs, one folklore cycle
The album’s closing four songs form a connected cycle inspired by the Dutch folklore of the Witte Wieven. KILOMETRO1 treats the tradition as an artistic interpretation rather than a literal retelling, focusing on feminine archetypes, memory, landscape and transformation. The songs also examine how women’s stories are shaped and preserved across time.
“Circle of Nine” is available independently through Spotify and other digital platforms. The release follows more than a decade of activity for KILOMETRO1, including performances in Mexico, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
Lily Kerrigan’s literary role
Lily Kerrigan sings, writes and co-composes for KILOMETRO1, while also contributing to the lyrics, narrative research, vocal interpretation and musical arrangements. Her academic background in Language and Literature informs the band’s use of cultural research and storytelling. She shares the project’s creative leadership with Alwin Rooijackers, the Dutch musician who works with her on the album’s musical direction.
The record is the band’s fourth full-length release and is available through the group’s official digital distribution page and Spotify.
