Stefania Sistu has released the single “Illusion” through Volcano Records & Promotion today, 29 October 2026. The Italian vocalist presents the song with an official lyric video that places its words at the centre of an introspective rock and metal arrangement.
Turning hurt into strength
“Illusion” addresses the emotional consequences of injustice, betrayal and disappointment. Its lyrics describe the wounds these experiences can leave behind, including the loss of trust and the way they can affect personal relationships during periods of vulnerability. The song follows Sistu’s attempt to move through that pain and turn it into greater self-awareness, rather than shutting herself away from other people.
The track’s message ultimately focuses on putting personal wellbeing first, relying on one’s own strength and gradually letting go of the weight of other people’s judgement. Musically, it carries an intense and emotional atmosphere that supports the song’s reflective subject matter.
Sistu leads the project
Stefania Sistu is credited with vocals and is described as a singer, songwriter and vocal coach with extensive experience in music. “Illusion” introduces a project in which rock and metal provide the setting for her writing about vulnerability, difficult emotions and personal recovery.
The music was written by Daniele Pireddu, whose collaboration with Sistu was central to the song’s creation. Pireddu also plays bass and guitar and handled the lyric video’s editing. Americo Rigoldi contributes keyboard, piano, synth and effects, while Manu Canu mixed the track.
The lyric video was released alongside the single on 29 October, allowing the song’s narrative to remain in focus as Sistu begins this new phase of her artistic work.
