Crimson Day have released the official video for “The Outsider”, a song from their fourth studio album, “Dark Dimension”. The Finnish heavy metal band, fronted by vocalist Milka Uusitalo, released the album through WormHoleDeath on 22 May 2026, and the record is available to stream. The new video follows a character who chooses isolation rather than surrendering their identity to fit in.

A video from inside

The song focuses on the tension between authenticity and belonging. Its protagonist would rather remain on the outside than follow the majority without question, even as that decision makes life more difficult. The story does not resolve with easy acceptance, leaving the conflict between individuality and social pressure open.

Crimson Day filmed the video from the protagonist’s point of view. The band used the look of digital-camera recordings from the early 2000s, an approach that they said suited the song’s atmosphere and visual identity. By placing the viewer behind the protagonist’s eyes, the clip presents the surrounding world from the perspective of someone who feels fundamentally different from the people around them.

This was probably the most difficult song to make, and we ended up rearranging and changing ideas multiple times. Together with our producer, Jussi Kulomaa, we finally found the ideas that worked best together and, as a result, created a great heavy metal song with some alternative elements and a good groove.

Milka Uusitalo leads

Milka Uusitalo is Crimson Day’s vocalist. Alongside the band, she has worked with Mindline and Black Mountain Cult, as well as through her solo work. Her vocal performance places the song’s themes of isolation and self-preservation at the centre of the new release.

Fourth album in 2026

Crimson Day formed in Tampere, Finland, in 2013. The band released “At the Mountains of Madness” in 2018 and followed it with the independently released album “Crimson Day” in 2023. The current line-up also includes guitarists Ari Balzar and Janne Rantanen, bassist Jesse Kämäräinen and drummer Juhani Ikonen.

“Dark Dimension” is the band’s first album released through WormHoleDeath. It also received a Japanese release on 30 June 2026, while Crimson Day have listed a show in Tampere for 27 November 2026.
