Lita Ford, the guitarist and vocalist, has revealed that her next studio album will be titled “The Bride Wore Black” and is tentatively planned for release in late spring 2027. The United States musician shared the details while speaking with Eddie Trunk on SiriusXM’s Trunk Nation, describing the record as a concept album built around a dark fairy tale.
The story will feature several characters, each with a role in the album’s narrative. Ford compared its tone to a darker version of a family film rather than an adult horror story.
The entire record is based on a dark fairy tale. But it’s kind of a PG-13 sort of dark fairy tale, you know, like a Shrek movie or something like that.

“Dracula” opens the story
The announcement follows the release of “Dracula” on 27 October 2026. As we reported when Ford released the single, the track is her first music since signing with Frontiers Records and the first single from the forthcoming album. It was produced by Gary Hoey, mixed by Max Norman, and recorded by Ford with Hoey and drummer Bobby Rock.
Ford said “Dracula” represents seduction and the danger of being drawn to someone who gradually drains your life. She also clarified that it is not the album’s title track, describing its release as a Halloween gift for listeners.
“Dracula” is basically an entity that represents seduction and someone who drains you of your life. But you like it. You kind of have this thing for flirting with disaster.

Further songs are planned for November 2026 and January 2027. Ford also hopes to release a duet with Doro Pesch called “The Queen of Pain”, potentially timed around an upcoming festival appearance in Milan. No firm date has been announced for the album, which is expected to arrive shortly before summer 2027.
Ford’s first album since 2012
“The Bride Wore Black” will follow Ford’s latest studio album, “Living Like a Runaway”, which was released in 2012. Her solo career followed her time as lead guitarist of the all-female rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s, before she established herself as a singer and guitarist in her own right.
Ford, born in 1958, has been the central member of her solo band since 1983. Alongside her vocals and guitar work, her best-known recordings include the 1988 album “Lita”, the song “Kiss Me Deadly” and the Ozzy Osbourne duet “Close My Eyes Forever”. The new album continues a return to recorded music that began with the recent Frontiers signing and the Gary Hoey-produced “Dracula”.
