Chilean alternative rock and metal band Psychotic Love have released “Nightmare”, the third single from their debut album. The track is out now on Spotify and all digital platforms.
The Santiago quartet formed in 2022 and consists of Ikiba on lead guitar, Lazzive on vocals and second guitar, Steve on bass and Biondying on drums. Their sound combines layered guitars, dense synthesisers and expressive vocal lines, moving between force and fragility with a marked cinematic atmosphere.
A plea for another chance
“Nightmare” follows a person going through one of their hardest moments, trapped in thoughts that lead them to imagine the worst outcome. Inside, a part of them tries to reach out, to get closer and remind them they are not alone, but it never quite manages to reach them completely. The distance between the two parts becomes a plea for another chance to stay. Between rage, exhaustion and despair, that inner voice keeps calling, even when it seems impossible to hear.
The song deals with the pain of feeling trapped in your own mind, and with the fragile hope that persists: the possibility of asking for help, waking up and looking at the sky again.
Building the debut album
With this third preview, Psychotic Love continue to reveal the identity of their first album. The band’s music explores the more complex sides of love, desire, insecurity and emotional deterioration, finding beauty in the darkest settings. “Nightmare” is the latest step in that direction, using alternative rock and metal as vehicles for intense emotions and personal conflict.
