Lucie Sue has released the official music video for “City of Ghosts”, a song she wrote and composed herself. The clip was filmed with phones by Charly Coppola and Amandine Spielberg, and edited by Lucie Sue on Capcut. It arrives through Sphynx Music, the label behind the release.
Filmed at Bannerman’s in Edinburgh
The video was shot at Bannerman’s, the Edinburgh venue the singer thanks in the credits alongside Christian, Pogo and RrrrruRrri Ironside, the “hot bears” she calls out by name. The cast includes Antton Araspin, Cosmic Girl, Vivien Tiszai, Lucie Sue, Pogo Carpenter, Christian Kimmett, Laura, Amandine, Charly and, as the credits put it, the dead mouse’s ghost. The lyrics name the setting directly: a haunted dead mouse lounge with stickers all around, sofas upside down, and a warning that at Bannerman’s you had better scream or die.
Baptiste Germser and R3myBoy on the recording
The track was recorded by Baptiste Germser with Antton Araspin, Baptiste Germser, Pierre Sangla and Lucie Sue. Patrick Fischer recorded the drums, with organisation by Elian Bourdais, and R3myBoy mixed and mastered the song. The credits also thank Jackson Guitars and San Canuto, and list booking for France through Rage Tour.
Lucie Sue, from the Lyon conservatory to Sphynx Music
Lucie Sue is the vocalist, composer and lyricist of the project that carries her name, and a graduate of the Lyon conservatory. She also plays in Furies. Her second album, “Battle Station”, came out independently in 2025, funded by crowdfunding and personal support, with one single and one video each month over roughly eight months. Steel Panther guitarist Satchel played a guest solo and appeared in the video for “Ride the Wired Wild Tiger”. She makes her own album graphics, shirts and video clips, and her brother recorded that album at his studio in Paris.
The new video follows that self-made approach: phones instead of a crew, Capcut instead of an editing suite, and a room full of friends in Edinburgh.
