Bulgarian industrial metal trio ABYSMATIC have released the video single “Страшни неща живеят в нощта”, the third track taken from their upcoming fourth album, which carries the working title “RAVE METAL”. The song is out now on Spotify and the other major streaming platforms, and the band will promote it with a show at club Купе in Sofia on 30 October, with tickets through the BILET.BG network.
Three generations, three eras
The video places each of the three members of Abysmatic in a different period of time, the past, the present and the future, with each era shown as torn apart by humanity’s drive towards self-destruction. The band’s three members represent three generations. The clip was directed and edited by Добромир Вълков, with Мартин Симеонов as camera operator and on post-production.
The song was written by Денис Ников, who also produced it, and mixed and mastered by Дан Валентино. The lyrics deal with entropy, personal development and the inner strength of the individual, built on cross rhymes and allegory rather than lines that fill space.
A new guitarist on the record
Радостина Желязова plays guitar in Abysmatic, having joined the line-up from the band Gwendydd. She appears on “Страшни неща живеят в нощта” and in the video, and is part of the trio alongside Денис Ников, who handles vocals, synths and bass guitar, and Добромир Вълков on drums. The Sofia show is her first concert with the band in its renewed line-up.
Angelie, Mei and Yarost Krasota on the bill
The 30 October date at club Купе is a video single promo show rather than a full headline set. Opening the night is Angelie, a newer act who mixes synth pop with folk motifs. Mei, described as a pioneer of Bulgarian cyberpunk, also plays, and Yarost Krasota closes the evening with DJ sets of EBM, dark electro and nu beat.
“Страшни неща живеят в нощта” follows two earlier singles from the “RAVE METAL” sessions and continues the band’s industrial metal sound. Abysmatic have not yet announced a release date for the album itself.
