Rtificial:Red will release “abyss” on 6 November 2026 through Croatian indie label Mudri Brk. The song is the first single from the band’s upcoming debut album, and the group will play at Radio Student’s 30th birthday celebration at Močvara in Zagreb on the same day.
A song about being remembered
The lyrics ask what remains after a person disappears, moving from “show your soul” to the repeated thought that everyone will eventually fade away. Tena Risek, Mislav Maldini and Luka Rajšić wrote the music, while Risek wrote the lyrics. Rajšić produced and recorded the track, and American producer Phillip Odom, known for work with Glare and Militarie Gun, mixed and mastered it.
Tena Risek wrote the lyrics
Tena Risek is a current member of Rtificial:Red who wrote the lyrics to “abyss” and co-wrote its music. The song’s text focuses on self-expression, mortality and the question of how people will be remembered. Risek’s vocal role is not specified in the published credits.
Mudri Brk described the band as melodic, loud, hypnotic, dreamy, hard and fierce, adding that the label was pleased to welcome them. The label will issue “abyss” as the first preview of the debut album now in preparation.
