Fatum Aeternum have released “Evidence”, a self-released gothic/doom metal single that arrived digitally on 23 October 2026. The Israeli band has reworked the song with its current six-member line-up, while keeping its original idea deliberately open: love is presented as a universal force that listeners can interpret through their own beliefs and experiences.
A song from 2011
Fatum Aeternum have played “Evidence” live for years. The song was selected to open the band’s international festival set in 2011, and the new recording is the third single in its renewed series of releases. Steve Gershin wrote and recorded the track, while Denis Saenko mixed and mastered it. Tayo Olawepo arranged and recorded the choir.
The current line-up features Steve Gershin on bass, piano and vocals, Evelyn Shor Gershin on violin and vocals, Dr. Joe on cello, Victor Grassiano and Max Datskovsky on guitars, and Mark Muzykant on drums. The release follows the band’s earlier singles and its 2022 track “Mortem Apud”.
Evelyn Shor Gershin since 2010
Evelyn Shor Gershin has been part of Fatum Aeternum since 2010. She sings and plays violin in the current line-up, adding both a vocal presence and a classical string instrument to the band’s gothic/doom metal arrangement. Her role places her at the centre of the reworked version of a song that has remained in the band’s repertoire for more than a decade.
Formed in Haifa in 2006, Fatum Aeternum began with a folk-influenced metal approach before developing its gothic and symphonic identity. The band has released the EP “Singing Songs of Desperation”, the album “Luxury Overdose” and several digital singles. “Evidence” is available through the band’s digital release links.
