HARTLIGHT have released the official music video for “The Golden Egg” on YouTube today, 1 November 2026. The song is the first single from the French symphonic metal band’s third album, “Iosis”, which is due in 2027 and is currently being funded through a Kickstarter pre-order campaign.
The track features Noa Gruman, lead singer of Scardust and a vocalist associated with Sabaton’s Legendary Orchestra and Delain. She portrays the Queen of the Sylphs, one of the characters in the story told across “Iosis”. The video was filmed by Lahav Levi and Cécile Delpoïo, edited by Lahav Levi and mixed and mastered by Flavien Morel.
A chapter from “Iosis”
“The Golden Egg” presents a scene from the album’s dark-fantasy narrative. Lune and Feather meet the Queen of the Sylphs, who asks them to join forces with Caelórien, the last dragon of her kind. “The Golden Egg” hatches during the chapter, giving birth to the dragoness, who then becomes part of the fight against the Cult and the corruption rising from the Pit.
The song moves between the characters rather than following a single narrator. Noémie Marie sings as Lune, while Noa Gruman takes the Queen of the Sylphs. The lyrics also give Feather and the narrator distinct parts, turning the track into a self-contained metal-opera scene rather than a conventional standalone song.
We are very proud to present you the first single of our upcoming third album IOSIS that will be out in 2027!
- HARTLIGHT, band statement
The release follows our earlier report on HARTLIGHT’s announcement of “Iosis”, which covered the album’s planned 11 chapters and its companion novel. The Kickstarter pre-orders opened today, as previously announced.
Music and novel share one story
HARTLIGHT have built “Iosis” as a metal opera directly connected to an original dark-fantasy novel. Each of the album’s 11 songs corresponds to a chapter in the book, while the novel expands the same narrative into a wider setting. William Aubert is illustrating both works, and the book is planned in English and French.
The story takes place in a closed world watched by two opposing moons, Albedo the White and Darga the Red. The Crystal City and its Tower sit at the centre of the land, under the authority of the Cult, while the Pit spreads corruption below. Lune begins the story as an enslaved woman in Vallaris, before the shadow of the Pit draws her towards the conflict at the heart of “Iosis”.
“The Golden Egg” therefore serves as an introduction to one part of that larger structure. Its final verses leave Lune, Feather and Caelórien preparing to stop a ritual, with the dragon resting in the garden’s wooden halls after accepting them as worthy allies.
Noémie Marie leads the vocal cast
Noémie Marie sings as Lune and wrote the lyrics for “The Golden Egg”. She shares the track with Noa Gruman, whose Queen of the Sylphs gives the song its second central voice. Adrien Djouadou performs the music, guitars, bass and programming, while also producing the track; Adrien Guingal plays guitar and Guillaume Remih plays drums.
Narrator Lucie André adds the spoken role, extending the opera format beyond the sung exchanges. Noémie Marie sings and wrote the lyrics, while Noa Gruman provides the guest vocals for this chapter.
Before “Iosis”, HARTLIGHT released the albums “As Above, So Below” in 2024 and “The Triumph of Metal” in 2025. The new project takes the band’s symphonic metal into a larger narrative format, pairing its music with a novel rather than treating the book as separate merchandise or background material.
