DEMONESSA have released their “Taste of Blood” EP and its accompanying music video today, 31 October 2026. The Finnish heavy metal band’s Halloween release contains two previously unreleased songs written during the same period as their debut album, “Wild ‘N’ Loud”, alongside a shortened version of that album’s opening track, “Till Death Do Us Part”.
A shorter route to the riff
The EP version of “Till Death Do Us Part” removes the song’s minute-long acoustic introduction, taking listeners directly into the heavy metal arrangement. The release is available through the band’s Bandcamp page.
Vocalist S3nsku and guitarist John Creweholm wrote both the music and lyrics for “Taste of Blood”. Hugo M. Raze also plays guitar, with Peet Von Rowanskerry on bass and Jerry Iron on drums. Aleksis Pelli mixed and mastered the track at Mix Studio 1101.
Vampire story from Tampere
The “Taste of Blood” video was filmed entirely in Tampere. Its vampire storyline was shot in the forest near Kaupinoja beach, while the band’s performance scenes were recorded in Rusko, near the group’s rehearsal space.
The video uses the format of a low-budget, 1980s-inspired horror film, placing the vampire’s story between performances by DEMONESSA. Fiona Fyhr plays the vampire and Sakari Mattila plays the victim. Kalle Salo, who appears as a hippie photographer, also operated the camera with S3nsku. John Creweholm directed, edited and colour-graded the film.
The performance footage changes with the story. The band appears in grey, dull tones during the night scenes, before warmer orange lighting arrives as dawn approaches. The production was largely handled by the band themselves. During filming, passers-by repeatedly stopped to check on Mattila after seeing him lying on the ground covered in homemade fake blood, with Creweholm standing over him holding scissors.
Senja Kääriäinen has sung since 2019
Senja Kääriäinen is the band’s vocalist and has been part of DEMONESSA since the group formed in Tampere in 2019. The official video credits list the vocalist as S3nsku. She fronts a line-up completed here by Creweholm and M. Raze on guitars, Von Rowanskerry on bass and Iron on drums.
The band first released the single “Livin’ Out of Spite” in June 2024 and followed it with the full-length “Wild ‘N’ Loud” in 2026. “Taste of Blood” now adds a horror-focused release to that 1980s heavy metal and glam metal direction.
