Avicide have released a music video for “Don’t Do It”, a track from their debut EP “Respirate!”. The Bristol gothic metal band shared the clip on 26 October 2026.
The song’s lyrics were written by bassist and vocalist Hattie Cowley, with the music by guitarist Thomas Wood. Danny Woods directed the video, handled the videography and did the colour grading.
Iron and Splendour in the Opening Line
The lyrics move between memory and warning. The first verse opens on a remembered taste: “I still remember the taste in my mouth / Iron and splendour and thoughts to drown”, and looks back on old hurt with something close to affection. The chorus repeats “Do it all again” before the title turns into a refusal, chanted eight times over: “Don’t do it”.
Hattie Cowley Writes and Sings
Hattie Cowley plays bass and sings in Avicide. She is one of the band’s three members, alongside drummer George Raven and guitarist Thomas Wood, and she wrote the words for “Don’t Do It”. The band formed in Bristol in 2026 and released their debut EP “Respirate!” the same year.
Avicide play gothic metal with alternative metal in the mix. “Don’t Do It” is the first track from the EP to get a video, and the band tagged the release as metalcore alongside metal and new music.
