Eluveitie will return to France for three shows at the end of 2026, closing a year that already took them to the Festival Interceltique de Lorient in August. The Swiss folk metal band play L’Interférence in Toulouse on 30 November, Le Transbordeur in Villeurbanne on 3 December and the Bataclan in Paris on 4 December. The shows are organised by Garmonbozia.
Pain and Wolfheart open
Two support acts travel with them. Swedish industrial band Pain, last seen in France in 2023 alongside Eleine, and Finnish melodic death metal band Wolfheart, who played Motocultor this summer and toured with Moonspell and Dark Tranquillity last year, open all three dates.
Still touring “Ànv”
The band continue to promote their ninth album “Ànv”, released in April 2025 on Nuclear Blast. It followed “Ategnatos” from 2019, the longest gap between two Eluveitie albums so far.
Léa-Sophie Fischer on hurdy-gurdy
The tour comes after a period of change in the line-up. After five years of stability, rare for a band of this size, “Ànv” brought a restructuring from nine musicians to seven. Hurdy-gurdy player Michalina Malisz left in 2022 and violinist Nicole Ansperger in 2024, and both were replaced by a single musician, Léa-Sophie Fischer. Flautist and bagpiper Matteo Sisti departed in 2025 and has not been officially replaced, with Nils Fischer usually handling those parts live.
Fabienne Erni, frontwoman and harpist
Fabienne Erni fronts the band and plays Celtic harp. She joined in the 2019 line-up change that preceded “Ategnatos” and has since become one of the two lead voices, sharing vocals with founder Chrigel Glanzmann. Outside Eluveitie she leads her own project Illumishade and plays in Tvinna.
From Winterthur to the Bataclan
Eluveitie formed in Winterthur, Switzerland in 2002 as a studio project of Chrigel Glanzmann, built around melodic death metal with Celtic melodies, hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes and lyrics partly in the Gaulish language. The 2008 album “Slania” broke them internationally, and they have since released nine studio albums. Their last Paris show was at the Zénith in October 2025, opening for Arch Enemy; their previous French run was a 2022 co-headline tour with Amorphis that included six dates and a show at the Olympia.
