Show-Ya have announced the 17th instalment of their 100 LIVE AGAIN series, two club shows in northern Japan in March 2027. The all-female heavy metal band plays Akita Club SWINDLE on Saturday 20 March 2027, with doors at 16:15 and the show at 17:00, and Morioka CLUBCHANGE WAVE on Sunday 21 March 2027, with doors at 15:15 and a 16:00 start. Tickets go on sale on Saturday 24 October 2026 at 10:00.

Both shows are all-standing. Advance tickets cost 8,800 yen, with a student discount at 3,300 yen and a VIP ticket at 19,800 yen, drinks charged separately. VIP holders are called in first at doors, receive a laminated pass and can join a photo session with all five members after the show, taken on the buyer’s own camera or phone in a single shot. Students must show a student ID and a second form of identification on the day or pay the difference at the door.

“Youth Until Death”

The band announced the dates with a characteristically defiant message: “SHOW-YA’s youth is not over yet!!! Youth until death. Please come and experience a SHOW-YA live show at close range.” The 100 LIVE AGAIN series puts the band in small clubs, deliberately close to the audience.

Three Mikis and a Singer

Show-Ya have kept their original line-up since reforming. Lead singer Keiko Terada, born in 1963, co-founded the band and fronted it from 1982 until 1991 before going solo, releasing albums that moved from hard rock into blues, pop and soul. She returned when the band reformed in 2005 and also plays in the group Nishidera Minoru. Behind her are Miki “Sun-go” Igarashi on guitar, Miki “Captain” Nakamura on keyboards, Satomi Senba on bass and Miki “Mittan” Tsunoda on drums, all contributing backing vocals. The three Mikis adopted their nicknames to avoid confusion.

From Medusa to Mugen

Formed in 1981 as Medusa, the band renamed itself after an izakaya chain in Chiba Prefecture and won the best female group prize at Yamaha’s East West Grand Prix, which led to a contract with Toshiba EMI. Their debut album Masquerade Show was mixed at Abbey Road Studios, and they reached their commercial peak with Outerlimits in 1989 and Hard Way in 1990. After disbanding in 1998, they reformed with the original line-up in 2005 for the 20th anniversary of their first release. Their latest album, Mugen, came out in 2025, and the band also runs the all-female rock festival Naon no Yaon, which it founded in 1987. Before the March dates, Show-Ya play the 2026 Kuruma Matsuri car festival at Okayama International Circuit on 1 November 2026.

Song of the day

The Erinyes

“"Agony & Ecstasy" - Official Visualizer”

A song about duality and loss, where agony and ecstasy intertwine as someone struggles to let go of a ghost-like presence and rise above the pain of being left behind.
