Poppy is the first confirmed artist for Welcome To Rockville 2027. The Florida rock and metal festival returns to Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach from 6 to 9 May 2027, and the organizers announced the singer today as the sole name on the public lineup so far. The complete artist announcement is due next week, and it is not yet known which of the four days she will play.
A Set Cut Short by Weather
The booking marks a return for Poppy, who was on the 2026 edition of the festival. Her performance that year was interrupted by severe weather shortly after it began, so the 2027 slot gives her an unfinished stage to come back to.
Welcome To Rockville is a four-day event that gathers acts from rock, alternative and heavy music. Further performers and the daily schedules are still to be confirmed through the official festival website.
From YouTube Android to Grammy Nominee
Poppy, whose real name is Moriah Rose Pereira, sings and plays multiple instruments as the sole member of her project. Born in Boston on 1 January 1995, she moved to Los Angeles in 2013 and became known from 2014 for YouTube performance art videos in which she played an android satirizing internet culture. She ended her collaboration with Titanic Sinclair in 2019 after accusing him of emotional abuse, and launched the web series “Improbably Poppy” in 2024.
Her first two albums were largely pop, but the 2020 album “I Disagree” pushed her into heavy metal and industrial rock and became her first entry on the Billboard 200. Its single “Bloodmoney” earned a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance, making her the first solo female artist nominated in that category. A feature on Knocked Loose’s “Suffocate” brought a second nomination in 2024, the year her acclaimed album “Negative Spaces” came out. Her seventh album, “Empty Hands”, followed in 2026 and became her second Billboard 200 entry.
Five Shows Before Daytona
Before the festival, Poppy has a run of dates ahead. She plays The Globe Theatre in Los Angeles on 31 October 2026, joins the Evanescence Southeast Asia show in Kuala Lumpur on 28 November 2026, and plays Knotfest Mexico in Mexico City on 5 December 2026. In June 2027 she heads to Germany for Rock Am Ring in Nürburg and Rock Im Park in Nuremberg.
