Godthrymm are one of four new names added to the bill of Uprising X, the tenth edition of Uprising Festival, which the organisers announced on 19 October 2026. The West Yorkshire doom band will play the festival’s new home, KK’s Steel Mill in Wolverhampton, on Saturday 10 April 2027, as the event relocates to the Black Country to celebrate a decade of independent heavy music.
The announcement adds four acts making their Uprising debuts. Alongside Godthrymm, the bill now includes Brighton alternative metal band Sypha, whose 2026 debut album “Bad Choices” passed one million streams in its first month, fellow Brighton band Crimson Veil, who released their debut full-length “Hex” after touring with Combichrist, and Birmingham metalcore band Kensei, winners of the local Metal 2 the Masses competition.
A decade of Uprising
Uprising X moves from the festival’s previous setting to KK’s Steel Mill, with two stages and no overlapping sets. Previously announced acts include Black Spikes, Hippotraktor, Cobra The Impaler, Cold Night For Alligators, Straight For The Sun and Reckoner. General tickets are on sale now at £40 plus fees, with free entry for children under 12 and half-price admission for ages 12 to 16.
Halifax misery, Midlands stage
Godthrymm formed in Halifax in 2017 around guitarist and vocalist Hamish Glencross, a former member of My Dying Bride. The band has released three full-lengths on Profound Lore Records, starting with “Reflections” in 2020, followed by “Distortions” in 2023 and “Projections” in 2026, plus the EP “The Light” in 2024. The current line-up also features Bob Crolla on bass, Kris McLaughlin on guitars and Jason Howard on drums.
Catherine Glencross on keys and voice
Catherine Glencross has handled keyboards and vocals in Godthrymm since 2022, when she joined the line-up. Her keyboards and singing are part of the band’s mournful, epic doom sound across their recent records, including “Projections”. She and Hamish Glencross share the band’s vocal duties alongside their respective instruments.
Uprising X takes place on 10 April 2027 at KK’s Steel Mill, Wolverhampton.
