Spanish symphonic folk metal act CELTIAN will release their live album “Desde Las Raíces” on 20 November 2026 via Maldito Records. The concert recording documents their sold-out headline show at Sala La Riviera in Madrid, which served as the tour finale for their 2024 studio album “Secretos de amor y muerte”. Alongside the announcement, the band released a live performance video for the song “Maleficio De Sangre”, with audio mixed and mastered by Alberto Seara at Cube studios.
A Sold-Out Night in Madrid
The band presented seven selections from the record at a press gathering held at the Sony offices in Madrid. Maldito Records will release “Desde Las Raíces” in a digipak double CD edition, across digital platforms, and in a package featuring a USB pendrive that contains the full concert footage. Band members explained during the presentation that they chose the track list while touring in Bogotá, Colombia, during their South American tour dates.
Ten guest musicians performed with CELTIAN during the recorded show in Madrid. The roster of guest performers featured Jorge Salán, Rosalía Sairem, Francesco Antonelli, Fernando Mainer, Irish Treble, Sara Ember, Marina Sweet, Isra Ramos, Carlos Z, and Kike Sanz.
Clean Harmonies and Harsh Vocals
Lead singer Xana Lavey, also known as Raquel López Eugenio, joined CELTIAN in 2018. She handles clean lead vocals as well as guttural passages in the live set. In addition to her central role in the group, she has performed as a vocalist with Spanish folk rock act Mägo de Oz.
Across Nine Years of Folk Metal
CELTIAN formed in 2017 in Alcalá de Henares in the Community of Madrid, originally founded by flutist Diego Palacio. The group expanded their line-up over subsequent years, adding drummer David Landeroin and violinist Txus Borao in 2019, followed by guitarist Sergio Culebras in 2020. Alongside bassist Raúl Plaza, the sextet built a discography of studio releases through Maldito Records, centered around nature, Celtic mythology, and fantasy storytelling in the Spanish language.
