Ethereal Pandemonium will return to the stage at Randal in Bratislava today, 7 November 2026, after a break of nearly 20 years. The Slovak black metal band is marking 30 years since its formation with a six-member line-up and a more aggressive sound that leaves behind the keyboard arrangements used in its earlier work.
Six members, harsher sound
The reunion show will bring together songs from Ethereal Pandemonium’s four previous albums alongside “Drony”, a new composition about the war in Ukraine. The song places the band’s return in the context of a current conflict, rather than limiting the concert to material from its earlier period.
The reunion process is documented in “A Flame From The Embers”, a film directed by one of the founding members. It follows the band’s musical history as well as the difficulties of rebuilding personal connections and finding a shared language after decades of separate lives.
Koca returns on vocals
Koca is the vocalist in Ethereal Pandemonium’s current line-up. She was also listed as the band’s vocalist in its earlier line-up. The reunited group now performs as a six-member band.
Four albums before the return
Ethereal Pandemonium formed in Bratislava in 1997 and previously combined black metal with folk and experimental elements. Its recorded catalogue included “A Winter Solstice Eve”, “Arcanum Lunae”, “[email protected]” and “Lost ‘n’ Sound”, with the last of those released in 2007. The band’s first listed release was the 1998 split “Split Promo Tape 98”.
