Symphony of Destiny will premiere their new original song “Cult of Sobek” on 7 November 2026 at Riffhouse Pub in Chesapeake, Virginia. The band were added to a bill with Shovelhead A.D., Edolus and The Eylis after one of the acts on the original lineup dropped out, and they will use the slot to make up for a cancelled performance at the Samhain festival.
A Debut That Almost Happened Elsewhere
The band had planned to play the Samhain festival, but that appearance was called off. Instead, the Chesapeake show becomes the first chance for an audience to hear “Cult of Sobek”. Doors open at 19:00 and the show starts at 20:00, with tickets at $10 at the door.
The song is not a one-off. According to the band, “Cult of Sobek” will continue the story arc for an eventual full-length album that is still in the works. It follows the EP “Heroes of Egypt”, which has been out for a couple of months, along with the 2026 singles “Rampage (Bastet)” and “The Riddle”.
Anne Dueweke on the Mic
Anne Dueweke handles vocals in Symphony of Destiny. She fronts a line-up completed by Wesley Eldridge on guitars, Tom Wright on keyboards and Patrick DeRoche on drums. The band’s lyrics draw on Egyptian mythology, a theme that runs from the 2025 single “Exile of Horus” through “Heroes of Egypt” and now into “Cult of Sobek”.
A Second Night in Richmond
The Chesapeake date is not the only show on the calendar. On 23 November 2026, Symphony of Destiny will share the stage with Reality Shift and Invictis at The Camel in their home city of Richmond, Virginia. The band describe the evening as a night of prog, power and symphonic metal, with doors at 19:00, music at 20:00 and tickets again at $10 at the door.
The band formed in Richmond in 2025 and released their first single, “Exile of Horus”, that same year. The blog post announcing the November dates went up on 22 October, and the band say any further news will appear on their website blog.
