Dragony have released “I Have The Power”, a digital single out on 23 October 2026. The track is a cover of the main theme from the 1985 animated film “The Secret of the Sword”, the He-Man and She-Ra feature. It is available on digital platforms.
The single arrives while the Austrian power metal band work on their next album, the follow-up to “Hic Svnt Dracones”, which came out in 2024. No release date for the album has been given.

The original theme comes from the film released in 1985, and Dragony keep the title as it is. The band have covered pop culture material before: their 2015 promotional video was a version of “True Survivor”, the David Hasselhoff song from the Kung Fury soundtrack. Lyrical themes across their catalogue include fantasy, battle, adventure and alternate history.
Maria Nesh shares the vocals
Maria Nesh sings in Dragony and joined the band in 2025. She shares vocal duties with lead singer Siegfried “The Dragonslayer” Samer, who has fronted the group since its early days. Before Dragony she worked with Distress Resilience, Warptime and Red Eye Temple. Her arrival followed the 2024 album “Hic Svnt Dracones” and the 2025 single “Shadow and Flame”.
From The Dragonslayer Project to Steamhammer
Dragony formed in Vienna in 2007 as The Dragonslayer Project, a studio rock opera project started by guitarist Daniel Stockinger and vocalist Siegfried Samer. The name was shortened to Dragony before the debut album “Legends”, released in 2012 through Limb Music. Line-up changes followed, with Simon Saito and Manuel Hartleb joining in 2012. The band now record for Steamhammer, and their recent singles include “The Untold Story (Albion Online)”, “Beyond the Rainbow Bridge”, “Dragon of the Sea (Sic Parvis Magna)” and “Twilight of the Gods”, all from 2024.
