American doom metal group Mothertomb signed an official agreement with Ripple Music to bring their debut album, “Dying to Live”, to physical vinyl format across 2027. The band confirmed that a second studio album is already in development under the same label following their initial independent success.
The forthcoming vinyl pressing of “Dying to Live” features newly mastered audio by Tony Reed. The original five-track record includes songs such as “The Summoning”, “Cythraul”, “Beware”, “Mountain Hag”, and the title track itself. Pre-order details for the physical release will follow through Ripple Music, while Mothertomb also continues to write material for their next full-length studio project.
Frontwoman Alice Gawlinski handles all lead vocals and lyrics for the band, delivering a diverse range from sensual melodies to baritone drones and aggressive gutturals. She drew and designed the original album artwork for “Dying to Live” while drawing artistic inspiration from gothic and doom pioneers. Alongside her in the line-up are guitarist Chance Gawlinski, bassist and engineer Alton Minor, and percussionist Mike Benitez.
Mothertomb formed in the rural woods of Northern Michigan, taking their name from a severe ice storm in April 2025 that cut power to thousands of residents and left local forests encased in ice. The quartet self-released their debut single, “Beware”, in October 2025 before following up with the progressive-leaning single “Mountain Hag” in January 2026. They self-produced their debut full-length, “Dying to Live”, on 14 July 2026, which climbed to number five on the Doom Charts before catching the attention of Ripple Music.
