Laura Pleasants’ Return Continues
Laura Pleasants co-founded Kylesa in 2001 and has remained one of the band’s two constant members alongside guitarist and vocalist Phillip Cope, sharing guitar and vocal duties throughout the group’s run. Outside Kylesa she has played in Cig Corpse, Slower and The Discussion. Kylesa went on hiatus in 2016 and reunited in 2024 with a new rhythm section, drummer Roy Mayorga and bassist John John Jesse, both formerly of Nausea. The reunion has since brought the band to Roadburn, Hellfest and Wacken.
