Feuerschwanz have used their official YouTube channel to post a behind-the-scenes look at “Carpe Noctem”, their collaboration with fellow German medieval metal act In Extremo. The making-of clip documents the work on the joint single, whose full video is available separately on YouTube. The video was made by “Matze Pracht”.
The two bands are not stopping at one song. Under the banner “Heute wird der Himmel brennen”, Feuerschwanz and In Extremo will tour Germany together in spring 2027, with eight dates announced.
Eight cities in April and May
The tour opens on 16 April 2027 at the Swiss Life Hall in Hannover and continues to Berlin’s Velodrom “UFO” on 17 April. Further stops follow in Stuttgart at the Porsche Arena on 22 April, Nürnberg at the Kia Metropol Arena on 23 April, Düsseldorf at the Mitsubishi Electric Halle on 24 April, Hamburg at the Sporthalle on 29 April, Erfurt at the Messehalle on 30 April, and München at the Zenith on 1 May 2027. Tickets are sold through the band’s own ticket page.
Before that, Feuerschwanz play Metfest at the Grugahalle in Essen on 19 December 2026, a line-up that also includes Brothers Of Metal and Melissa Bonny.
From Erlangen to the big halls
Feuerschwanz was founded in 2004 in Erlangen, Bavaria, and started in comedic medieval folk rock before moving into medieval metal, folk metal and power metal. The band signed with Napalm Records in June 2019 and has since released a run of charting studio albums, including Fegefeuer in 2023, Warriors in 2024 and Knightclub in 2025. In August 2025 the band released the single “Valhalla” with Doro Pesch.
Harp, violin and hurdy-gurdy
The line-up around founder Peter Henrici, known on stage as Hauptmann Feuerschwanz, includes two women. Jenny Diehl appears as Schildmaid Yennefer and plays harp as one of the band’s stage performers. Stephanie Pracht, known as Johanna von der Vögelweide, plays violin and hurdy-gurdy and has been part of the band since the late 2000s. Diehl is also involved in the project The Dark Side of the Moon.
The making-of video for “Carpe Noctem” is online now on the band’s official YouTube channel.
