Element of Fate have released the official audio for “Whispering Tree”, a song from their debut heavy metal album Dreamfall. The track went up on the duo’s official YouTube channel on 16 October 2026.
The band describes “Whispering Tree” as a song about desire, sacrifice and fate. The release comes with original artwork created for the song by the duo’s vocalist, Carol Phillips, who also works as a visual artist.
Vinyl through Kickstarter
Alongside the audio, Element of Fate are running a Kickstarter campaign for a limited edition vinyl pressing of Dreamfall. Preorders are open through 31 October. The album is also available on the band’s Bandcamp page.
Dreamfall is the first full-length from the Washington, D.C. duo, which was released independently in 2026 without a label. The record mixes classic metal influences with expressive vocals and dark fantasy storytelling, and earlier coverage has pointed to symphonic, gothic and progressive elements in its sound.
Madame Crol at the microphone
Carol Phillips, who sings under the name Madame Crol, is the voice of Element of Fate. She also creates the band’s artwork, including the piece that accompanies “Whispering Tree”. Her partner in the duo is Scott Loose, the band’s composer, who plays guitars, bass, keyboards and drums on the recordings and has previously played in As the Sea Parts, Brave and Stellar Death.
