Pretty Addicted have released “Hysterical”, a new single featuring black metal vocalist Sarah Jezebel Deva. The announcement was made by the band on 15 October 2026, with the track available immediately through Spotify, Bandcamp, iTunes, Deezer, YouTube, YouTube Music and Amazon Music.
“Hysterical” is the third song to arrive from the band’s reinvented phase, following “ROT” and “MOCK”. The single combines black metal with electronic breakbeat elements, and its lyrics take in the power of women kinship drawn from an ancient calling. Vocally it sets the growling and screaming of frontwoman Vicious Precious against the operatic tones and narration contributed by Sarah Jezebel Deva.
A sound they call “Blackened Rave”
The band describes its current direction as “Blackened Rave”, a mixture of aggressive electronica, black metal and drum ‘n’ bass that sits outside any single genre. Pretty Addicted frame their catalogue in biblical terms, treating everything released before this point as the “Old Testament” and presenting the material unfolding from 2026 as the “New Testament”.
Pretty Addicted formed in 2011 in the UK. Between 2014 and 2023 the band released five studio-length albums and one EP, each financed through crowdfunding, with four of the five campaigns raising more than 100% of their targets. Those earlier records are now positioned as a prologue rather than a guide to the new sound.
Sarah Jezebel Deva steps in
Sarah Jezebel Deva is the guest on “Hysterical”, bringing operatic vocals and narration to the track. The vocalist is known for work with Cradle of Filth, Mortiis and Therion, as well as collaborations with members of Emperor and Dark Funeral, alongside a solo career.
Two people, one cult
The current Pretty Addicted line-up consists of Vicious Precious on vocals, songwriting and production, and Loki Leviathan on drums. Vicious Precious, the band’s frontwoman, wrote and produced “Hysterical” and supplies the harsh vocal half of the new single. The band has also pointed fans toward its own merch and booking channels alongside the streaming links issued with the release.
