Spanish metalcore band Awake Consciousness have released their new single “Get Kusali Chöd”, out on 15 October 2026 through Art Gates Records together with an official music video. It is the band’s third single, and it arrives several months after “This Is Our Time”, which featured the vocals of Lena Scissorhands of Infected Rain.
A battle turned inward
While the previous single brought in an external guest voice, “Get Kusali Chöd” turns the battle inward. The band describes the track as a confrontation with the ego and the masks people hide behind, exploring how pride, guilt and the fear of rejection can keep a person trapped. The lyrics move through pain, resentment and the need for recognition before building towards a call to break free: “Break the illusion of ego, and the chains of the mind.”
The band explain the idea behind the song:
The ego and its various masks are a burden we must free ourselves from in order to attain mental and emotional peace and to discover the transcendent meaning of our lives. Only by acknowledging its existence and confronting our own darkness can we overcome it and give birth to our true self.

Produced at Awake Studios
“Get Kusali Chöd” was produced by Awake Studios and mastered by Alex Cappa at Metropol Studios. The single is available now via Art Gates Records, the Spanish label the band signed with in September 2025. Before this release, the band put out the single “I Am” in November 2025, followed by “This Is Our Time” in February 2026.
Ira Kero at the microphone
Awake Consciousness is fronted by vocalist Ira Kero, the only member named in the band’s line-up. Her earlier projects include the bands Ainia and Bloody Grass. Under her leadership the band released a debut album in 2022 and has since been building a run of singles, with “Get Kusali Chöd” as the third in that sequence.
The single and its video are out now on the band’s streaming and social channels.
