Italian symphonic power metal band Temperance have released a new music video for “The Fool”, the fourth and final single lifted from their upcoming album “Arcani”. The album is scheduled for release on 16 October 2026 via Napalm Records, and pre-orders are available now.
Guitarist and vocalist Marco Pastorino, who wrote the song, explained its origins in a statement:
the final single leading up to Arcani, The Fool, has a rather unique story behind it. I received these lyrics from Kristin, and built the entire song around them. The perfect opening track for this new full-length album, it blends many of the signature elements that define TEMPERANCE: from epic choruses and soaring guitar melodies to a neoclassical acoustic break. Get ready to discover The Fool card and one of the longest tracks of the record.

A Tarot-Themed Opening Track
“The Fool” opens “Arcani” and, according to Pastorino, is one of the longest tracks on the record. The lyrics came from vocalist Kristin Starkey, and Pastorino built the song around them, combining the band’s choruses, guitar melodies and a neoclassical acoustic break. Kristin Starkey sings clean female vocals in Temperance, having joined the band in 2023 together with drummer Marco Sacchetto. She is the band’s third female vocalist, following Chiara Tricarico and Alessia Scolletti, and she also has a history with Twilight Force. Her lyrics are the foundation of “The Fool”, the song that opens the new album.
Eight Albums in Thirteen Years
Temperance was formed in Italy in 2013 by members of Secret Sphere and Bejelit. The band has released seven studio albums between 2014 and 2023, including “Of Jupiter and Moons” (2018), “Viridian” (2020), “Diamanti” (2021) and the concept album “Hermitage - Daruma’s Eyes Pt 2” (2023), on Scarlet Records and Napalm Records. “Arcani” will be the band’s eighth studio album and their first full-length with Starkey on vocals.
