London doom metal band Lust Ritual will release their new EP “Devil’s Chains” on 26 October 2026 via Black Legion Records. The announcement, reported on 17 October, presents the record as the second EP in the band’s short career, following “Forbidden Rites” in 2024.
Five tracks and a Candlemass cover
“Devil’s Chains” holds five songs. It opens with “Genesis”, moves through “Dark Passenger”, the title track and “Requiem”, and closes with “Solitude”, a cover of Candlemass. The Swedish doom classic was written by Leif Edling and originally appeared in 1986, and the band credits it to Candlemass and L. Edling on their Bandcamp page.
The credits show a band working close to home. The EP was recorded, mixed and mastered by Amadeus R., while Luke Drew wrote the music for “Genesis” and “Requiem” and co-wrote “Dark Passenger” and the title track with Arturas Pulkinas. Ieva Ruiz wrote the words for the two longer songs. The cover comes from Bruno Ruiz, the band photography from JVNVisuals and the logo from Orion Ilustracio. A vinyl edition is available through Black Legion Records.
A young band with a steady label
Lust Ritual formed in London in 2023 and released their first EP, “Forbidden Rites”, in 2024, along with the single “Babylon Whore”. In December 2025 they put out the single “The Damned”, which the band described at the time as the latest single from an upcoming album to be released in 2026 via Black Legion Records. The label has stayed with the group across all of these releases. Their lyrics deal with sin, death, love, doom and suffering.
Ieva Ruiz fronts the ritual
Ieva Ruiz sings in Lust Ritual and also writes the band’s words. She is credited with the lyrics of “Dark Passenger” and “Devil’s Chains”, and she created the artwork for the earlier single “The Damned” together with Olly. She shares the stage with guitarist Luke Drew, bassist Logan Fox and drummer Harry McLennan.
The EP is already streaming on Bandcamp, where “Devil’s Chains” can be bought as a digital album for five pounds.
