Tarja will return to Greece in March 2027 for two concerts, the promoter announced. The Finnish singer brings her Frisson Tour to Gagarin 205 in Athens on Friday 19 March 2027 and to Principal Club Theater in Thessaloniki on Saturday 20 March 2027.

The tour takes its name from her latest album, “Frisson Noir”, released on 12 June 2026 through earMUSIC, her first studio album of new material since “In the Raw” in 2019. The record features ten tracks built on cinematic orchestrations, choirs, dynamic guitars and melodic piano passages, with guest appearances by Marko Hietala, Apocalyptica, Dani Filth of Cradle of Filth and Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers. Tarja co-produced the album with Mic, the mix was handled by Grammy winner Neal Avron, known for work with Linkin Park, Skillet and Disturbed, and Ted Jensen mastered it at Sterling Sound.

From Nightwish to a solo path

Tarja Turunen founded Nightwish in 1996 and spent nine years as the voice of the Finnish band, helping shape the symphonic metal sound with her classically trained soprano on songs such as “Nemo”, “Wishmaster” and “Sleeping Sun”. She began her solo career with the Christmas album “Henkäys ikuisuudesta” in 2006 and launched her full solo path with “My Winter Storm” in 2007, followed by albums including “What Lies Beneath”, “Colours in the Dark”, “The Shadow Self” and “In the Raw”, along with classical and Christmas projects such as “Ave Maria - En Plein Air”. She has played more than 1,000 concerts worldwide and collaborated with artists including Within Temptation, Scorpions, Mike Oldfield, Doro Pesch and Marko Hietala.

A soprano with three octaves

Tarja Turunen, born on 17 August 1977 in Kitee, Finland, is a professional classical lied singer with a three-octave vocal range. She studied lyrical singing at the Sibelius Academy and the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. Beyond Nightwish and her solo career, she is also known for the projects Harus, Noche Escandinava, Outlanders and Raskasta Joulua, moving between classical performance and metal while maintaining her own artistic identity.

The Greek concerts promise material from “Frisson Noir” alongside songs from across her solo catalogue and her Nightwish years.
